Osmosis Shade SPF 30 is particularly notable for warding off two types of ultraviolet (UV) rays: ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB). UVA, which are longwave rays, are consequently less intense than UVB, which are short-wave ones. However, UVA is much more common, accounting for more than 90 percent of UV radiation that hits the Earth’s surface. As a result, it plays a major role in causing signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines. UVB, because of its relatively high intensity, is linked to skin reddening and sunburn. Both types of UV rays also damage the outer layers of the skin, or the epidermis, thus making it more susceptible to skin cancer.
