Molnlycke Health Care’s Mepilex Transfer Ag is a wound contact layer that minimizes infection while providing less-painful healing, the company says. “Mepilex Transfer Ag uses the bacterial-reducing power of silver,” says Josh Way, product manager at Molnlycke Health Care uS. “It is ideal for treating exuding and difficult to dress wounds.” The dressing uses the company’s Safetac technology, which is designed to adhere gently to dry tissue but not to moist wound surfaces. It also molds to the skin’s irregularities, covering more skin surface and spreading peel force on removal to help prevent skin stripping. Mepilex Transfer Ag also provides a combined rapid and sustained antimicrobial effect and has a flexible foam technology designed to absorb and transfer exudate away from the wound.
